Editorial policies

The Journal allows the author(s) to hold the copyright without restriction and to retain publishing rights without restrictions. Papers, data, figures, maps, and any other material published, are covered by the copyright own by the Sapienza Università Editrice.

IJEGE, the Editor (chief and Associates) and the Publisher are not responsible for the ideas, opinions and contents of the papers published; the Authors of each paper are responsible for the ideas, opinions and contents published.

Section policies

Articles should generally be divided into an Extended abstract, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodologies, Results, Discussion or Conclusions and References. The Extended Abstract should contain about 4,700÷4,800 characters. Italian authors are invited to provide extended abstract and keywords in Italian language too. The text should contain a maximum of 20,000 characters (abstract and references included without title, authors' name and affiliations).

All the articles will be subjected to a “peer review” process. The accepted articles will be also indexed at the end of the editorial flow.

Peer review process

The editorial flow is managed with the Z.pub platform (developed by University of Padua - University enter for Libraries) accessible at URL page www.ijege.uniroma1.it.

The Scientific Editor-in-Chief of the journal will periodically screen all articles submitted for an initial review.

Those articles which satisfy the editorial policies and the required quality level of the Editorial Board will be sent to a maximum of two referees for peer review.

IJEGE uses a blind peer review (the referee/s is/are anonymous).

These are experts in the field who have agreed to provide a rapid assessment of the article. Every effort will be made to provide an editorial decision as to acceptance for publication within 10-15 weeks of submission. Referees report/s and the final decision of the Editorial Board will be made available to the Authors by means of the Editorial platform. One of the following options will be encountered: accepted as it is, accepted with minor revisions, accepted with major revisions and rejected. If minor or major revisions are requested, it is generally understood that only one revised version can be considered for a further appraisal under the peer-review system by consulting the same referees or not.

The Editorial Board of our journal is responsible for the final selection of referees to conduct the peer-review process for that journal. The names of referees will not be made available to authors. However, referees will be informed as to the identity of the authors whose articles are subject to review. All members of the Editorial Board and referees are asked to declare any competing interests they may have in reviewing a manuscript. If on receiving the editorial decision concerning their manuscript authors are not satisfied they are invited to appeal to the Scientific Editor-in-Chief. In cases in which this is considered appropriate a second opinion on the manuscript will be requested.

Publication times

The average number of weeks between submission and publication is 40.
